About the Artist
Cristina Colichon (Lima, Peru) is a plastic artist specialised in the peruvian traditional artisanal weave technique. The artist graduated from Massachusetts College of Art in the United States, BFA fibers.
The artist, through her work, aims to transmit the weaver’s profession, technique and handcraft. Cristina Colichon reinterprets the traditional peruvian textile by using alternative materials such as nylon, metallique and transparents fibers. Building a dialogue between light, space, and shape.
Her work has been exhibited at galleries, museums and biennials in South America, Central America, Europe and the United States.
