About the artist
Carlos Medina (1953,Venezuela) graduated from la Escuela de Artes Visuales de Caracas in 1975. In 1977, he moved to Carrare, Italie to create sculptures in marble and stone. He returned to Venezuela in 1986. After presenting his work at the most important national museums of Venezuela, he was projected to the international scene by being invited to symposia, biennials and salons in Latin America, Asia and Europe.
His work is based on geometric abstraction. He is mainly interested in volume and space. Medina’s work has evolved into an essential and imperceptible interpretation of nature, physics and the universe.
The artist has received more than twenty museum awards, cultural and artistic and has created several public sculptures in different countries.
Carlos Medina lives and works in Paris.
